From Lorient, the city of 5 ports famous for its Interceltic festival, Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly, the submarine base and museum, set sail for the island of Groix ! After a short ferry crossing, you will land on a heavenly island boasting beautiful beaches, wild coves and small typical harbours.
Vannes, near Arradon at Penboch,is a charming medieval city over two thousand years old with its ramparts, half-timbered houses, castle and cathedral. From here you can take a trip to Ile aux Moines. Rightly known as "the pearl of the Gulf", this small island promises visitors an exotic setting, a 5 minute ferry crossing away!
From the pier of Port Navalo or Locmariaquer, you can sail towards the small island of Arz. This wild, island is much appreciated for its beaches and alleys lined with pretty low-roofed houses. An invitation to escape!
If you particularly like the peacefulness of small villages, the long walks on the coastal paths and landscapes with ever-changing colours, then look for a campsite on the shores of the Gulf of Morbihan, like Mané Guernehué. Baden, and its surrounding villages, are simply magnificent: the Auray river on one side, Baden’s islands on the other and opposite, Île aux Moines!

You guessed it, Carnac's legendary standing stones! Thousands of menhirs erected over nearly 4 kilometres make up the largest megalithic complex of this type in the world.

If you are still wondering where to camp in Morbihan, take a closer look at the campsites around Lorient. From Guidel to Larmor-Plage, the long beaches of fine sand are a delight for families and watersports enthusiasts such as sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. In the background, you can see Fort Bloqué, the citadel of Port-Louis and the island of Groix! Hennebont is also worth a visit. Take a stroll along the wall walk which offers an unobstructed view of the gardens and ramparts of the Ville-Close. If you are passionate about river fishing, you may prefer a campsite on the banks of the Scorff and the Blavet in the heart of Morbihan, as do kayakers, hikers (GR 38) and cyclists.
A little escapade from the Rhuys Peninsula to La Roche Bernard in Brittany
There’s plenty to do on the Rhuys peninsula too. Discover Suscinio castle, former residence of the Dukes of Brittany built at the end of the Middle Ages, but also the Cairn du Petit Mont, Saint-Gildas Abbey, Crouesty marina and Port-Navalo or the salt marshes of Lasné, home to thousands of birds. On the road that leads to La Roche-Bernard, a small town of character with its old port, old quarters and craftsmen's workshops, stop off in Damgan, a charming seaside resort famous for its large sandy beaches from where you can see the Guérande Peninsula. Near Muzillac, you will enjoy spending an afternoon with the children at Branféré Zoo, the most visited park in Morbihan. Another nearby discovery: the Arzal dam, the largest estuary dam in Europe!

Camping Le Moustoir is a small 4 star campsite in Carnac, quite close to the standing stones area, a few miles away from Carnac sandy beaches.
